Thanksgiving Lunch

By: Ana C. ‘28

The school lunch is always a hot topic among the students’ conversations. The versatile options offered each day help every student find their fit. How could it get any better? Well on a certain day every year the school lights with excitement. What day, you ask? My answer:Thanksgiving.

Established as a tradition, every year on November 20th, a mere four days before thanksgiving, The Bryn Mawr Cafeteria has the opportunity to cook one of the largest Thanksgiving dinners of all time! The tradition has become legendary, and this year, the cafeteria staff truly outdid themselves.

From the moment students arrived for first period, the excitement was palpable. You could tell that their mouths were watering already. As the day wore on, the excitement simmered beneath the surface, temporarily replaced by the usual focus on classes.  But as third period drew to a close, the energy returned tenfold.

Some students ran, while others walked, but no one, I mean no one, took the time to stand. The Bryn Mawr line was practically a mile long!

The cafeteria was ready to serve with a dining hall of delectable food with an assortment of cool decorations lining the ceiling. Our Bryn Mawr school devour 42 turkeys, 60 pounds of yams, 50 pounds of corn, and 40 pounds of green beans. A special thanks to our cafeteria staff, and @culinartgroup
