With warm weather finally here, many students may be  wondering how to enjoy the beautiful springtime in Baltimore City. There are plenty of things to do whether you are an explorer, outdoor enthusiast, or someone who just likes to stop and smell the roses. For the explorer, this is the perfect time to traverse the city. From walking around the docks downtown to visiting institutions like the National Aquarium or Science Center in the Inner Harbor, to visiting places like Hampden, where you can purchase unique goods and eat at local restaurants, there are no incorrect answers when choosing activities.

Spring is the time of new beginnings. It is the perfect season to dine at restaurants’ outdoor seating options, bask in the warm sun, and enjoy the cool breeze to connect with family and friends while relishing in the beautiful sights and tastes Baltimore has to offer. Spring is not only the time to further pre existing relationships with people but also to blossom new friendships.

Spring in Baltimore features fluctuating weather, so no matter if it is sunny, windy, or cloudy, the options are endless like going outside to hike, camp, or fly a kite. Lake Roland is a great place to spend your  time outside because there are so many different activities to partake in , including fishing, canoeing, or spending time out in the sun on the lake watching nature.

Another place in Baltimore City to get some vitamin D is the Jones Falls Trail. This is a common bike path but could also be used as a hiking trail; it is a great way to see wildlife while staying in the city, and also has many stops along the path, such as waterfalls, a greenhouse and a lake.

An alternative way to enjoy a beautiful day outside is to visit the Maryland Zoo. At the zoo, you can still get all of the sunshine that you need and get to see a multitude of different animals including a Maryland-dedicated section where you will find native animals as well as Baltimore mascots like the raven. If you like animals but want to stay under the comfort of a roof on a rainy Spring day, the National Aquarium is also a great way to spend a day in Baltimore. It would be hard to get bored of all of the aquatic creatures, interesting displays, and hands-on experiences featured at the National Aquarium which are great for both younger and older audiences.

However, if you prefer an amusing and informational outing, Baltimore is home to plenty of museums, including the Baltimore Museum of Art, the B&O Railroad Museum, Edgar Allan Poe House & Museum, and the Fort McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine. All of these places can provide much entertainment through the acquisition of knowledge which gaining through historical means can provide development in oneself. In addition, another great experience is watching a production. There are so many organizations that put on productions all of the time, like the Hippodrome, Everyman Theater, and Chesapeake Shakespeare Company, so you can always catch a show. Shows are entertaining by themselves but it can bring even more enjoyment to watch a production with friends or family. So that afterwards you could bond over sharing your excitement and insights of the show

Any way to spend your time during the spring is justifiable as long as it brings joy, but branching out and exploring is a great option. Spring has the perfect weather to go out and conquer the world because of all of the new possibilities. So do everything that you can to embrace the new season and explore all of the things Baltimore has to offer. The sky is your limit.
