Mawrtian of the Month: Ms. Bradley (Interview)

By: Ally M. ‘28

The foundation of every community is built upon the people inside of it. This edition of The Quill is highlighting one of the integral parts of the Bryn Mawr community: Ms. Bradley. Whether or not you have had Ms. Bradley as a teacher or not, you have certainly seen her walking down the halls of the school. For the past five years, she has worked at both Bryn Mawr and Gilman. Here at Bryn Mawr, she coaches the Junior Varsity Field Hockey and Squash teams. Outside of school, she enjoys running, biking, and baking her dad’s apple pie recipe.

  1. How did you become interested in teaching?

“Before working at Bryn Mawr, I worked in a lab. While that was fun, I really missed having a community. I also loved working with kids and math, so I applied on a whim!”

  1. What was your favorite subject in school and why?

“I actually really enjoyed english. I loved reading Mrs. Dalloway and Moby Dick. At college I majored in economics and minored in math.”

  1. What is your favorite part about teaching?

“I love seeing my students have fun and collaborating with each other. I love when I see new people interacting with each other, like during office hours. The school community here is so amazing and I love being a part of it.”

  1. What have you learned from working with students at Bryn Mawr?

“I think it’s so interesting to see the differences in everybody’s brains. Like how one explanation or solution doesn’t work for everyone. There isn’t one perfect solution, and that means that I have to get creative with my teaching style.”
